EdMar headcanons

1. They met in high school, when Marisol was in 10th grade and Eduard was in 11th.  At the time, Marisol was still involved with Ivan, though she was unhappy with him.

2. Eduard and Berwald get along very well contrary to what one might expect.  Berwald likes Eduard's nerdy and computer-esque personality opposed to Ivan's and the others' brute-force concepts.

3. Ed and Marisol once went on vacation together; when Eduard told his family of Marisol and Berwald's plight, they were quickly invited to accompany the von Bock's to the shore. Marisol immediately agreed as she hadn't been on vacation in nearly five years; Berwald was a little more hesitant but agreed eventually.

4. Marisol and Eduard often spend their time watching local high school athletics; they've attended baseball, basketball, hockey, and volleyball matches together.

5. Though Eduard is not big on it, Marisol loves double and group dates.  They have no particular pair they like to accompany.

6. Eduard is an amazing cook.  Marisol is not. Once, when they attempted to cook a meal together, Marisol managed to light Eduard's steak on fire.  The fire department was called.

7. Eduard and Marisol were married as the fifth couple because they had met much later than everyone else.  They had two weddings; one took place in Estonia so Eduard's entire extended family could attend, and the other took place in Montana, overlooking a gorgeous, serene lake.  

8. Eduard and Marisol had Evan a year and a half after being married, and Helena a year after that.

9. Eduard is known to be very close with his daughter Helena.  His son Evan is closer with Marisol.

10. Helena is a low-maintenance daughter and very down to Earth.  Her brother, Evan, is known for being the center of attention and conceited.  

11. Eduard taught Marisol to play hockey soon after they met; she was a natural for it, making the guys' hockey team for their high school the following year.  Eduard attended nearly every match of hers.

12. Eduard also taught Helena to play skate when she was three, and how to play hockey when she was six.  This is now her passion and Eduard teaches her daily.  

13. When Helena hit the age of thirteen, the first age she was allowed to date (as ground rules were told by her mother), Eduard suddenly became very protective.

14. Marisol is the only person who can control Eduard when he gets into his "moods"- these occur when he shuts himself in his office or in his room with his laptop and refuses to speak to anyone for an extended period of time.

15. Uncle Berwald is also extremely protective of Helena but seems to dislike his nephew.  He ends up living with the von Bocks because he can't be separated from his sister, his only living relative.

16. While Helena's passion may be hockey, Evan's is biology.  He may be a flirt and full of himself, but he often spends his free time reading up on the newest insect species discovered or protozoas.  This skill and passion came from his mother's lineage.
